Our Zero Waste partners Climate Wave have given us an update about how we've been tracking, in the lead up to our 15th Birthday event this Sunday - and might we say, we feel pretty damn proud!
The Village Markets have recovered nearly 3 and a half tonnes of materials which have gone back into circulation, since 2019.
Also, with the organics and compostable food packaging recovered, TVM have helped saved 5,726.60 of CO2-e (kg) emissions, which translates to the equivalent days of 511.30 days of electricity consumption for one household - that's 1.4 years!
On Sunday, to celebrate our 15th Birthday, you can swing by and chat to the lovely team from Southern Beaches Community Garden and Climate Wave about this initiative. You can also do some seedling planting using certified compostable cups from market attendees - and soil which uses the compost which TVM has helped to create by recovering the compostable food packaging from our events.
