We celebrated 10 creative years on the Coast on Sunday 7th October and what a party!

Tunes on the Gold Coast MINI Garage Stage by Tones and 1, Lily Budiasa and an old fave Mitch King, returned to finish the day.

Live tunes on the Gold Coast MINI Garage Stage this Sunday are set to be epic, kicking off with independent Australian solo artist Tones & I.

TONES AND I is Toni “Tones” Watson, an independent Australian solo artist from the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Tones began her musical journey in 2016 with a broken keyboard and a cheap loop pedal. After locking away for a year to master the art of looping, she ventured up to Byron Bay in late 2017 in her old van to try her hand at busking. On the first night, she made more money than she’d been making in a week of her day job. On the second night, she was shut down by the cops because her crowds were spilling onto the road. It was then that she realised she needed something on record, so jumped back on the road to Melbourne and quit her job. A few huge hometown busking sessions on Melbourne’s infamous Bourke Street secured her enough goldies for a plane ticket and confirmed it wasn’t just beginner’s luck. Tones then flew back up north and recorded a live demo in a friend’s studio up in the hills. By the 5th night of captivating massive crowds with her genre-diverse style and BIG effects-laden vocal, she’d sold 500 copies of the demo. Her debut single ‘Johnny Run Away’ dropped in March 2018.

Some parking for the event is available on the school oval and in surrounding streets, as well as in the large carpark on Connor Street, just a short 400m stroll to the event. See map here. One of the most talented musicians we've been lucky enough to know and host over the past ten years at TVM is returning this Sunday to help us celebrate our tenth birthday event.

Catch Mitch King this Sunday 7th October at #TVMTurns10 on the Gold Coast MINI Garage Stage from 11am - 12:15am, Burleigh Heads State School.

MITCH KING

Mitch King is a travelling Artist from Australia and his music is inspired by his love of life and sense of freedom.

He had a huge 2017… sold out his first headline shows, toured internationally, EP ‘Southerly Change’ debuted at #2 on the iTunes blues charts for 10 days and his single ‘Burning’ has clocked over 1.9 million streams on Spotify.

He’s played a heap of renowned festivals including St Kilda, Byron Bluesfest and NYE on the Hill plus his song “Coming Back” was used by US NFL team “Green Bay Packers” to promote their opener season game in 2016.

His sweet combinations of electrified, inventive and acoustic music leave his audiences truly captivated.
