When it comes to cute kids swim, there's one brand you MUST know about... ArchNOllie.
We chat to designers and founders Renea and Candice about the inspo for the label and its humble beginnings as they prepare to join TVM for the first time this Sunday 7th October.
What's your background?
Both Candice and I had very different backgrounds. Candice was an event manager, travelled the world for international brands such as Rolex and Kia before she took on the role of Motherhood and then ArchNOllie.
Myself (Renea) was worked in creative arts in some form. Whether it was Drama, dance and later as a School teacher with an interest in performing arts and special education.
What made your pursue your creative passion?
ArchNOllie was created by sisters Renea and Candice, borne from a shared passion for creating things that are unique, beautiful and made to be loved. The brand was inspired by the arrival of Renea’s children Archer and Olive, who epitomise the vitality and spirit for life that exists in all of us. What started with custom design headwear has so quickly grown into so much more.
With the brand continually growing we hope you will always find that special something you are searching for. Always stylish, always different, whatever you choose you can be content knowing that ArchNOllie doesn’t follow trends. We always design from the heart, and hope you can find something that will bring some joy to yours.
When did you take the plunge and start your own business?
It never started as a business, we have grown organically from the beginning. After making items for my son and daughter people would ask to buy or 'where is that from' on my Instagram and when I saw other people were wanting what I made, I started as small big cartel website and we have been growing ever since that day.
What does your brand consist of?
Originally known for our headwear consisting of headbands and hair jewellery we expanded into hats and Summer apparel for both boys and girls. We have a huge following and love of our UPF 50+ rated reversible long sleeve swimwear.
What inspires you?
Our children and their love of play. So both colour and the environment inspire us daily.
What were the biggest challenges when launching your brand?
As sisters, working and living in two states of Australia can be a challenge. Also, no retail experience caused a lot of headaches in the infancy of ArchNOllie.
What is the best thing about having your own business?
Being able to work from home and around the needs of our very busy family lives
