As big supporters of arts and culture on the Coast, we get super excited when an exhibition rolls into town and Coming into Fashion is one that's got us counting down the days.
Fashion photography has gripped us for over 100 years.
Many of the legends like Mario Testino, Deborah Turbeville, and Helmut Newton achieved their greatness at the Condé Nast studios in New York, Paris, and London.
With unprecedented access to the archives of each city, Coming into Fashion is an exhibition tracking the highlights of this sparkling intersection between photography and fashion. In addition to these images, a selection of vintage couture from The Darnell Collection - Australia’s largest private collection of fashion from the late 1700s to the 20th century – will be on display.
A curation of seminal fashion films and documentaries will be screening throughout the exhibition season, and over two days of talks and forums, guests will hear international and Australian industry leaders discuss the past, present, and future of the world of fashion.
Coming into Fashion: A Century of Photography at Condé Nast is a ticketed exhibition on display at Gold Coast City Gallery 25 November, 2017 until 18 February, 2018.
Celebrating the Coming into Fashion exhibition, this micro film festival offers a curated selection of the most seminal films and documentaries about fashion. Popular hits like The Dressmaker, The Devil Wears Prada, and Funny Face will run alongside gripping industry documentaries like Dior and I, Advanced Style and Iris.
